The only possible upside to baldness is that you won’t have bad hair days anymore. But the sad fact is that there is no good hair days either! From whatever perspective you try to look at it, figuring out that there is more hair on your brush than on your head is always a sight of horror!

Flaunting thick and healthy long hair has become a thing of the past. Hasn’t it? Good healthy hair is quite a rare sight often limited to those enviable models you get to see on shampoo ads.

So what are some good home remedies to prevent and reduce hair fall?

1. INDIAN GOOSEBERRY (AMLA)
The deficiency of Vitamin C causes hair loss. And guess who is rich in Vitamin C? Amla, the Indian gooseberry, of course. Amla packs itself with exfoliating, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which helps in maintaining a healthy scalp. And a healthy scalp is synonymous with healthy hair.
• Mix 1 or 2 tea-spoons of amla pulp and lemon juice and apply it all over the scalp thoroughly.
• Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it overnight.
• Rinse thoroughly.

2. ALOE-VERA
Dead cells clogging your hair follicles could make your hair unhealthy. Aloe-Vera takes care of the removal of such harmful dead cells. Helping you maintain the health of your scalp, it reduces hair fall.
• Mix fenugreek powder, basil powder and castor oil with aloe-vera gel to prepare a mask.
• Apply this mask to your hair and scalp and leave it overnight, covering it with a shower cap.
• Rinse it off the next morning.
Apply this mask once a week for good results.

3. ONION JUICE
Onion Juice does not just prevent hair fall but promotes its regrowth too! It’s high Sulphur content helps improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation of the scalp and increases regrowth of hair. You can either apply the juice of grated onion in itself or mix it with Aloe-Vera gel and apply on your scalp and hair. Leave it for 30-40 minutes and then rinse it off. Shampoo your hair afterwards. You can repeat this technique every time before shampooing.

4. EGG WHITE MASK
Vitamin C isn’t the only thing your hair needs to stay healthy. Eggs, very rich in vitamin B, proteins and nutrients, help eliminate multiple-deficiencies. Separate egg-white and beat it. Mix it with olive oil and apply it on your hair. Rinse after an hour. Do this regularly to reduce hair fall and regain its lost health.

5. OIL MASSAGE
Massage your hair regularly for maintaining the blood-circulation of your scalp. It will also help strengthen the hair-roots and to condition the scalp. Some of best oils you could use are Coconut oil, Olive oil, Almond oil, Lavender oil, Rosemary oil and Jojoba oil.

6. HENNA
Henna is widely used to soothe the scalp and provide luster to your hair. A paste of henna and curd is applied on hair and rinsed off after 3 hours. Henna kills dandruff, strengthens the hair and brings brilliant color and shine to it.

Your hair needs all that protein, iron and zinc it could get! Make sure that your daily diet includes foods rich in protein, iron and zinc. While hair loss is often inherited, it could be attributed to your negligence too.
